Point Fortin mayor Kennedy Richards Jr has launched a new cashless initiative to provide digital grants to burgesses in need and those affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with Loop News, the mayor said the corporation has partnered with WiPay to provide a safe and accessible means of help to those within the community who need it.
In January, a pilot project was launched introducing cashless transactions in Point Fortin in collaboration with WiPay, the Trinidad and Tobago International Finance Centre and the borough corporation.
