Downsound Entertainment (DSE) launched“The Return of Reggae Sumfest” at a media event held at the luxurious Iberostar Hotel in Montego Bay on Thursday, May 18th. WiPay Holdings was announced as an official presenting sponsor for the event. Reggae Sumfest is the largest music festival in Jamaica and the Caribbean, taking place each year in mid-July in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Founded in 1993, Sumfest attracts an average of 30,000people from all over the world and brings more than a billion dollars into the Jamaican economy.

WiPay will be Sumfest's exclusive payment processor for the Four-day festival which comprises of two (2) street parties and a night dedicated to local dancehall which then culminates into the Sumfest Concert on Saturday, July 22nd. Another, technological first for Reggae Sumfest would be the Sumfest NFT which only a select few will receive at WiPay’s VIP SkyLounge via airdrop. Reggae Sumfest, is easily identifiable as a brand by its use of the Iconic Bob Marley logo, has featured most of Jamaica’s top reggae artists such as Damian "Junior Gong” Marley, Stephen Marley, Ziggy Marley, Bunny Wailer, The Mighty Diamonds, Toots & the Maytals, Derrick Harriot, Leroy Sibbles, U-Roy, John Holt, Maxi Priest,Leroy Smart, Beres Hammond, Tony Rebel, Andy Vernon, Frankie Paul, FreddieMcGregor. Dancehall stars such as Barrington Levy, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Spice, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Capleton, Sean Paul, and Lady Saw have also been featured.
